The major source of school funding is provided through Education Queensland’s School grant allocation. The school has a well equipped resource centre which is air conditioned thanks to the Cool Schools Initiative.
The Parents and Citizens Association also provide additional funds through school initiatives and some local fundraising. The school community is very supportive with working bees are rostered on a regular basis involving all parents from the school.
The school also receives funding from the Indigenous Education Strategic Initiatives Program(IESIP) which is based on the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students(ATSI) enrolled in the school and the Aboriginal Student Support Parent Awareness Program(ASSPA). The ASSPA committee also coordinates the Aboriginal Tutorial Assistance Scheme(ATAS). Both of these will be phased out in 2005 and replaced by ITAS the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme which will depend on ATSI students being identified in the Yr 3,5,7 tests.
